Heart of Gold Society

The special bond we share with animals runs deep and goes beyond words—it comes straight from the heart.

The San Francisco SPCA’s Heart of Gold Society is a special group of generous individuals who love companion animals, give $1000 or more annually to express their concern for their care and protection, and who wish to put an end to their overpopulation, cruelty and unnecessary suffering.  Gifts from the Heart of Gold Society provide crucial funding for our programs and have helped make San Francisco one of the safest cities for cats and dogs and a model nationwide.

There are many benefits of joining the Heart of Gold Society, including the deep satisfaction you will feel knowing you’ve made a significant impact on the lives of homeless animals and furthering the mission of the San Francisco SPCA as a leader in animal welfare.

How You Can Help

The SF SPCA relies on contributors like you to make our life-saving programs possible. We are independent of other animal welfare organizations and do not receive any government funding.

The more you give, the more lives we can save! Here are just a few examples of the impact your gift could have:

•    Prevent unwanted litters of puppies and kittens—cover the cost of 10 spay/neuter surgeries.

•    Save the life of an animal with traumatic injuries in our shelter medicine program

•    Prevent the spread of disease and unnecessary abandonment—underwrite a free vaccination clinic that serves up to 200 dogs in an at-risk community.

•    Support the adoption of up to 300 cats and dogs from our renowned adoption center.

There are many ways to support our lifesaving programs. We can help you find the one that both meets your philanthropic wishes and furthers our mission. For more information or to discuss giving options, please contact:
