The SF SPCA hosts a wide variety of events across the organization, including fundraisers, volunteer orientations, dog training classes, and youth programs (including summer camps, Community Service Saturdays, and more). This fun and fast-growing dog sport invites the handler to teach their dog to negotiate an obstacle course of tunnels, a variety of jumps, climbing and more! Introduction to Agility is for anyone who wants to try a fun hobby with their dog. This class strengthens the bond between dog and handler, and provides fun and exercise for both. Dogs and humans love Agility!

Our shelter generally requires one to be 18 years of age or older to qualify to volunteer. However, we are able to extend the opportunity and privilege of joining our shelter cat or dog volunteer teams to mature, responsible, enthusiastic, and highly committed young adults.

Just the Basics with a tiny twist! This beginner-level training course is tailored for dogs that weigh 20 pounds or less. This unique course covers sit, stay, come, and walking on leash with a little dog focus in mind. In addition, students will learn valuable tips on keeping small dogs safe in the city and travel training.

Preschool Story Time is a monthly program designed for children ages 3 to 5. SF SPCA Humane Educators read an animal-related children's book with a humane message at each session, and readings are followed by a craft or activity and an animal interaction.
