- About Us

They need you. We need you. Volunteer for the animals.
The SF SPCA offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, and all make a true difference to the animals in our care.
We rely on volunteers to care for shelter dogs and cats, conduct adoption counseling, assist clients and veterinary staff at The Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center, provide foster care, help with our Community Cats Program, and enrich the lives of people in our community through our Animal Assisted Therapy program.
Volunteers must be 18 years old or older and able to make an initial volunteer commitment of three hours per week for six months. Please visit our Youth Programs page to learn more about opportunities for those under 18 years old.
To get started volunteering or to learn more about volunteer opportunities at the SF SPCA, please attend one of our upcoming Information Sessions. You only need to attend one session and there is no need to RSVP.
