In 2019 the SF SPCA launched its Walk-In Wellness Clinic. The weekly clinic focuses on the most common preventative care issues that we see in our full service hospitals and our mobile vaccine clinics.
In the last year alone the clinic has helped 3,324 patients, providing 6,012 vaccines and giving 1,074 doses of flea preventative!
At the beginning of the pandemic, the clinic restructured and transitioned to the Call Ahead Clinic, allowing clients to make same-day, low-cost appointments while prioritizing health and safety.
The clinic plays a significant part in fulfilling the SF SPCA’s vision to provide access to veterinary care for all San Francisco pets by 2030. The clinic addresses two of the most common reasons why people don’t pursue preventative care: convenience and cost. The reduced exam fee includes a limited wellness check with a veterinarian, and clients can access reduced-cost vaccines and preventive medications such as flea and tick control.
The Walk-In Wellness Clinic is an intermediary tier of care, between our full services hospitals and our free mobile vaccine clinics. Our goal is to make veterinary care more accessible for all of San Francisco’s cats and dogs.
Our community programs like the Walk-In Wellness Clinic rely on your support. Please make a donation today so we can continue providing services to the animals and people who need our help.
