Peabody came to us from our partner shelter, Fresno Humane Animal Services. He was cast aside on someone’s land and evaded Fresno humane officers for weeks before they were able to bring him to their shelter.
When we bought Peabody to the SF SPCA, it was clear he was fearful of humans and scared. His extremely long fur was covered in heavy, painful matting, and it was no wonder why he didn’t like to be touched. Our Shelter Medicine Team quickly got to work to rid his body of the matted fur, and our Shelter Behavior Team began healing his heart.
Peabody made amazing progress! Through tender TLC and very tasty treats, he realized that humans weren’t so bad. Soon after he arrived, Peabody found his forever home. He still had a ways to go, but we knew his new family would truly help him blossom.
